"We, NU ALPHA KAPPA, seek to unite and involve all students in a more harmonious and brotherly atmosphere through academic, social and cultural means. There is a need to interface the various backgrounds that constitute the student body of our fraternal university chapter, in order to improve relations amongst all students and the community."
Iota Chapter History
The dynasty began with an invitation to a Nu Alpha Kappa Fraternity, Inc. National Board meeting. This meeting took place on April 9, 1995 at the University of California Santa Barbara. Eleven good friends entered a journey that would mark the beginning of Los Hermanos de la Comunidad, an official interest group for Nu Alpha Kappa.
Los Hermanos would mark the beginning of a better social environment at California State University, Sacramento. As time went by, each member saw the excitement that the other members began to develop towards this journey. Los Hermanos de la Comunidad knew that this process would take a lot of time and effort. Unfortunately, two members were unable to hold to this commitment and decided to drop out of the process. The remaining nine members decided to fulfill and complete their journey.
On July 27, 1996 the Iota Chapter of Nu Alpha Kappa Fraternity, Inc. was officially established at California State University, Sacramento. The nine Founding Fathers would continue to build the strong foundation that would carry Nu Alpha Kappa's tenth chapter into the next millennium.
Being the first Latino-Based fraternity in the history of CSU, Sacramento put pressure on every member of NAK. Therefore, to make the organization succeed, NAK concluded that their goal would be retained and followed for years to come.
